A note from your teacher
CEO Jae
If you've ever sat with someone who desperately needed help — and felt the frustration of not knowing exactly where to send them, what they'd need to bring, or whether the program you found was even still accepting applications — you know how high the stakes are in this work. A wrong turn doesn't just waste time. It can mean a family goes without heat another month, or a returning citizen misses a housing deadline that sets everything back.
That's why I built the GBB Resource Institute the way I did: practical, specific, and honest about how complex this landscape really is. Not a course that hands you a list of websites and calls it a day, but a full training that walks you through the actual steps — the assessment, the document checklist, the right agency, the application process, the follow-up — for the kinds of situations you actually encounter. Food insecurity, eviction threats, reentry from incarceration, veterans' benefits, behavioral health navigation. Real programs. Real procedures.
I want to be direct with you about something: this work is not simple, and I won't pretend it is. Eligibility rules vary by state. Deadlines shift. Agency contact information changes. Programs get defunded and relaunched. That's exactly why I've built verification into the DNA of this training. You won't just learn what programs exist — you'll learn how to confirm that what you know is still accurate before you stake someone's wellbeing on it. That habit alone will make you more effective than most people doing this work.
What I'm most proud of in this curriculum is its range without loss of depth. We go from foundational skills — conducting a needs assessment, understanding the difference between federal, state, county, and local responsibility — all the way through specialized population navigation for returning citizens, veterans, seniors, domestic-violence survivors, and youth aging out of foster care. And we finish by helping you build a resource toolkit that is actually yours: tailored to your state, your client population, your workflow.
You don't need a graduate degree to do this work with excellence. You need the right training, the right tools, and the discipline to always verify before you act. That's what this school is here to give you. I'm glad you're here — let's get to work.
